I finished

Well, I cannot believe I finished the playground. I wish I would have had more time to explore them even more. But it is done and it feels very good!!!! I have learned a lot and found resources I had no idea we have access to. Thank you.

Titles

I forgot to include the titles of my last two posts. They relate to "Subscription databases" and "BC's Askaway chat reference service". Sorry about that.

I don't really like online chat very much (not to be able to see who you are talking to) but it was amazing anyway. I placed the question and the Askaway librarian got in touch with me right away. She asked me a few more questions and I was immediately connected to the web site I needed (Vancouver's North Shore mountains).

I think is wonderful to have access to this tool especially for people that don't have time to come to the library and do it in person.

- Library to Go E-Audio: wow, this is great, I had no idea. It is very easy to get access to it. I think everybody would benefit from this database. I will for sure.

- Novelist K-8: I find it very easy to navigate through it. I love all the search options and how to narrow the results by subject. I understand is designed for elementary and middle schools, and also for teachers. Parents could also find it very useful.

- EbscoHost: the reason I chose this database is because I work with the magazines and I was curious to see what they offer to the public. Mostly academic but some high school students could find it useful too. I is amazing the amount of information they offer!!!

I had a lot of fun going through them.

Office 2007

The look is different but they are friendly user. I like the Quick Assess Toolbar althoug was a little difficult to find it at first. Overall I think it very nice.

Shared calendaars

This course was very useful. We use the shared calendars all the time in our department. It good to be aware of all the steps involved.

email best practices

I have found this very interesting. There are lots of details that I wasn't aware of regarding "all about phising". The test is very useful (got 9 of 10).
